- Services • Collect, review and analyse reports or other relevant material from previous and on-going projects, prepare a detailed work program and Inception Report • Review and assessing existing and forthcoming MSWM legal and regulatory framework in Jordan • Assessing and evaluating the institutional set-up and the technical and operational performance of the existing MSWM in Jordan • Financial analysis of existing MSWM systems • Assessing and evaluating the existing public awareness and education programs on MSWM and the existing situation of PPP in Jordan, and defining new policies. • Socio-economic survey of waste picking activities • Synthesizing and formulating the Baseline Study • Formulating of Strategic Planning Framework • Analysing options for MSWM Institutional Set-Up, MSWM Operational System, and Financial Sustainability of MSWM Strategic Planning Framework • Economic Evaluation of all alternatives of MSWM operational systems • Synthesis of all the assessment outputs and formulation of the national strategy to improve the MSWM sector in Jordan • Conduct a Feasibility Study and financial evaluation for the Recommended MSWM Strategy and formulation of the Action Plan • Capacity building for implementation of the MSWM Action Plan
This project is part of the Regional and Local Development Program (Jo-RLDP) that is funded by the World Bank for Reconstruction and Development and aims at creating a National Strategy for the Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSWM) sector in Jordan by studying and evaluating the current legal, institutional, economic, financial and social situation, and formulating a strategy for the MSWM suitable for Jordan, which will serve as a road map for this sector.
