Project Description: The Project will act as a role model in the Jordanian TVET system by providing high-quality, practice-oriented and affordable TVET programmes at a new HTU Campus as a new flagship institution. Additionally, HTU will take over the management of two public Vocational Technical Institutes (VTIs) in Irbid (“Female VTI” and “Hakama VTI”) and in the medium term integrate both VTIs completely into the HTU structure (by 2022). With this approach the Project is envisaged to create an outstanding example of a practice-oriented TVET delivery in close collaboration with the private sector, and thereby increase the employability of graduates and the attractiveness of TVET in Jordan. - Component 1: Construction and equipment of a new TVET Campus in Amman on two plots of 20,000 m2 land area. o Construction of a new training building complex of approx. 8,000 m² o Construction of a new administration building of approx. 1,200 m² o Construction of dormitories for approx. 80 females / 80 males with approx. 2x1,000 m² o PV plant with a capacity of 250 kWp - Component 2: Upgrading and equipment of two VTIs in Irbid o Hakama VTI Irbid: The Hakama Vocational Training Institute in Irbid currently provides training in bakery, hairdressing, hospitality, mobile repair, automotive incl. body repair and maintenance, as well as car electrics, AC/refrigeration, plumbing, welding, electrical installation etc. on level 1-3 for approx. 550 trainees.
