Construction and rehabilitation of the 2.3 km-length Al-Zarqa-Yajouz road, consisting of four-lane separated by a median island. Two more lanes (400 m each) were added for special forces administration. Work included performing earthworks (excavation and backfilling in accordance with road design profiles and natural earth contours/elevation), layer selection, sub-layer works (including base and sub base coursing, selected layers, and sub grads), hot-mix asphalt works, laying reinforced concrete to protect the culvert entrances and exits, placing reinforced box and 750 mm, 900 mm, and 1,200 mm diameter pipe culverts, laying riprap to protect the side of the road slopes, placing warning signs, road marking, and installing road barriers.
