A waste to energy facility in Amman, based on anaerobic digestion technology (“AD Plant”), proposed to process 80,000 tonnes of organic waste per year, which is equivalent to approximately 16 % of the current potential of organic waste in the total collected waste by Greater Amman Municipality (GAM).   The proposed plant is expected to generate between 11 and 12 million cubic meters of biogas per year, which should be sufficient to run 3x1MW engines and export up to 24,000 MWh of electricity to the grid per year.
